Brief: A self initiated project in 2023 that explored the concept of being 'other'. 'Other' meaning those that we see as different, and thus 'alien' to us. For example a different: race, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability, etc.
Solution
In order to appeal to my target audience of eccentric young adults seen as 'others' I decided to create a funky odd sock brand that celebrates the concept of being 'other' or 'odd'. The customer can buy singular socks to mix and match them for their perfect pairing, with a percentage of the profits going to charities that help 'others' like LGBTQ+, BLM, etc. I chose odd socks as my focus to create something that large portions of people could partake in, and could incorporate into their everyday life as a small form of protest.
